Every great chapter eventually turns the page—and for the Building Trades Network North County Chapter, we’re excited to officially begin our next one!

After more than four wonderful years gathering each Tuesday morning at Sharon & Sons Flooring & Cabinets, BTN North County has a new home: Suzy’s Cafe in Santa Ana.

While our location may be changing, everything that makes Tuesday mornings special remains exactly the same: trusted relationships, collaboration, referrals, education, plenty of conversation, and a group of professionals who genuinely want to see one another succeed.

From One Welcoming Home to Another

Our move comes as longtime BTN Member Sharon Barlow begins her well-earned retirement after more than 40 years with Sharon & Sons Flooring & Cabinets.

Sharon graciously opened her showroom to BTN following the COVID shutdowns and gave our North County Chapter a place to reconnect, rebuild, and grow. Over the years, that showroom became much more than a meeting location—it became part of the BTN story.

As we say goodbye to our Tuesday mornings at Sharon & Sons, we do so with tremendous gratitude for everything Sharon gave our network.

Now, we’re excited to carry that same sense of community just up the road to our new meeting home.

Welcome to Suzy’s Cafe!

Located at 2610 S. Harbor Boulevard in Santa Ana, Suzy’s Cafe is a longtime neighborhood breakfast, brunch, and lunch spot—and it happens to be a fantastic place for people to gather. Suzy’s offers a dedicated business meeting room with seating for up to 60 people, giving BTN plenty of room to meet, learn, connect, and continue growing.

From the moment we began working out the details, owner Dan Maitland was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating to our group. The waitstaff has been just as warm and helpful, making us feel right at home.

And, of course, there is one added perk to holding a 7:00 AM networking meeting at a neighborhood cafe:

Breakfast and coffee are never far away!

Suzy’s serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch, with everything from classic breakfast favorites to sandwiches, burgers, salads, steaks, pasta, and more.

We have a feeling there will be quite a few BTN conversations that continue over another cup of coffee after the official meeting ends.

Why Our Weekly Meetings Matter

A BTN meeting isn’t simply about walking into a room, handing out business cards, and hoping someone sends you a lead.

It’s about getting to know the people behind the businesses.

Every Tuesday, our North County members have the opportunity to share what’s happening in their companies, exchange referrals, thank members for opportunities, learn from one another, discuss challenges, celebrate wins, and deepen the relationships that allow us to confidently recommend one another to our own customers.

That consistency matters.

When you meet with someone week after week, you learn how they operate. You learn about their expertise. You see their character. You understand the standards they bring to their work.

That’s how networking becomes trust—and trust becomes opportunity.

Our weekly North County meetings continue every Tuesday from 7:00–8:30 AM, now at Suzy’s Cafe.

New Location. Same Mission.

BTN has grown and evolved over the years, but our purpose remains the same: bring together quality professionals who believe in integrity, accountability, collaboration, craftsmanship, and community.

A new meeting location gives us another opportunity to keep building on that foundation.

New members will walk through these doors.

New friendships will begin.

New referrals will be exchanged.

New collaborations will take shape.

New ideas will be shared.

And yes… probably a whole lot of coffee will be consumed along the way.

We’re incredibly grateful to Sharon & Sons Flooring & Cabinets for being such an important part of our history, and we’re equally excited for what comes next.
