The Ultimate BTN Collaboration

Building. Community

At Building Trades Network (BTN), Building. Community. isn’t just a slogan — it’s a way of life. A shining example of this came together recently with an inspiring collaboration for the Ronald McDonald House in Long Beach, where a group of BTN members used their talents, time, and hearts to create something truly special.

The Project: A Kitchen That Heals

The kitchen is the heart of any home. It’s where meals are shared, conversations unfold, and hope often begins. For the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House while their children undergo treatment, having a welcoming, functional kitchen provides an important sense of normalcy during an incredibly difficult time. Food can heal the soul — and so can a space designed with love and purpose.

When Paul Fernandez of Kitchen Koncierge introduced this project to BTN, our community immediately stepped up, demonstrating the power of what happens when skilled trades come together with a shared mission: to serve.

Meet the Dream Team

This project wouldn’t have been possible without the craftsmanship, leadership, and generosity of these incredible contributors:

  • Paul Fernandez, Kitchen Koncierge
Brought the project to BTN and inspired the collaboration.

  • Paul McKelvey, McKelvey Construction
General Contractor, overseeing the full scope of work.

  • Sam Dabagh, Renova Construction
Project Manager, coordinating all moving parts to ensure success.

  • Johnny Bryant, ASL Electric & ASL Plumbing
Electrical and Plumbing Contractor, ensuring everything behind the walls worked just as beautifully as what’s seen.

  • Aaron Burk, Burk’s Custom Painting
Painting Contractor, bringing warmth and a fresh new feeling to the space.

  • Chad Compton, DEFI Construction, Inc.
Custom Millworks, crafting the cubbies and base moldings that add both beauty and functionality.

  • Jeff Hart, Creative Tile & Stone (Former BTN Member)
Tilework artistry that added style and soul to the new kitchen.

A Gift of Comfort and Love

Thanks to the collaboration of these skilled professionals — and the generous donation of the family who funded the materials — the Ronald McDonald House now has a beautiful, upgraded kitchen where families can gather, eat, and find a sense of home when they need it most.

This project is a reminder of why BTN exists: to not only build businesses, but also build up our community. When we come together, incredible things happen.

Great work to the team and to everyone who had a hand in making this project a reality. This is the heart of BTN — Building. Community.
